Privacy Policy

This site collects almost nothing. Here is exactly what happens, in plain terms.

Who is responsible for your information

RINAI.CO is responsible for the personal information described on this page. In data protection language, we are the data controller.

You can reach us about anything on this page at hello@rinai.co.

The short version

  • Browsing this website sets no cookies and runs no analytics.
  • We do not track you, profile you, or sell anything about you.
  • We receive personal information only if you choose to book a call, and then only what you enter yourself.
  • Our team is based in Malaysia, so information you send us is accessed from there.

What the website itself collects

Nothing. There are no contact forms, no analytics, no advertising pixels, and no cookies set by our own code. Fonts are served from our own domain rather than a font provider, so reading a page does not report your visit to anyone.

Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which typically include IP addresses, browser type and which pages were requested. These are created automatically by the act of serving a web page, are used to keep the site running and secure, and are not combined with anything else or used to identify individuals.

What happens when you book a call

Booking runs through Calendly. Their booking window loads only once you move toward a booking button, so if you never do, nothing from Calendly is loaded and nothing is sent to them.

When you do book, you provide directly to Calendly:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your time zone and chosen appointment time
  • Anything else you type into the booking questions

Calendly also collects technical information such as your IP address in order to run their service. Calendly processes this on our instructions, and their own privacy notice describes what they do in more detail. We receive the booking details from them.

Why we are allowed to hold it

We use your booking information to hold the call you asked for, to prepare for it, and to follow up about the services you enquired about. Under UK and EU rules this rests on taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries.

If we later send you marketing that is not a direct reply to your enquiry, we will ask permission first where the law requires it, and every message will include a way to stop receiving them.

Where your information goes

Our team is in Malaysia, which is outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. If you are in the UK or EU, this means your information is transferred to a country that those authorities have not formally recognised as providing equivalent protection.

Where that transfer happens we rely on the standard contractual clauses approved for this purpose, and we apply the protections described on this page regardless of where the information is accessed from. You can ask us about the safeguards we use at hello@rinai.co.

Who else can see it

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It reaches other companies only where they provide a service we need in order to operate:

  • Calendly, for scheduling
  • Our website host, which serves these pages
  • Our email provider, so we can reply to you

Each is bound to use the information only for the service they provide to us. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Booking and enquiry records are kept for as long as we are in contact with you about your enquiry, and for up to two years afterwards so we have a record of what was discussed. If you become a client, records are kept for as long as we work together and for the period afterwards that tax and accounting rules require.

You can ask us to delete your information sooner, and we will unless we are required to keep it.

Your rights

If you are in the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you have the right to ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

You also have the right to complain to your national data protection authority if you think we have handled your information badly. We would rather you told us first at hello@rinai.co, so we have a chance to put it right.

If you are in Malaysia, you have equivalent rights of access and correction under the Personal Data Protection Act, exercised through the same email address.

If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined there, and you may request access to or deletion of your information using the same address.

Children

This site is aimed at business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16, and we will delete it if we learn that we have.

Changes to this page

If we add anything that collects information, such as analytics or a contact form, we will update this page at the same time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.

Contact

Questions, requests or complaints about privacy go to hello@rinai.co. If you would rather talk it through, you can book a call.
